Jim Kelly
JIM KELLY has been practicing law in Connecticut since 1988. After a decade in insurance defense litigation with a Hartford firm, he opened his own firm in 1998 in his hometown of Washington, where he resided with his wife Joanne and their growing family. Partnering with other firms, he broadened his experience and developed his practice in real estate and land use locally. In 2001, he founded Kelly & Trevenen, which he managed until 2010 when he decided he could best serve the local community as a sole practitioner and so formed Kelly Law Offices.
Through his 40 years as a resident and over 15 years of practice in Washington, Jim is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable real estate and land use attorneys in the area. When he is not at work, he can usually be found at one of the many recreational facilities around town playing with Joanne or any of their four kids. And when the games are over, he is usually found on his tractor dreaming of his second career as a farmer in sustainable agriculture.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and St. John’s School of Law.
Molly Spino
MOLLY SPINO provides support in all matters regarding real estate and probate. A U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Molly might say she’s “got Jim’s six.” Needless to say, Molly is no stranger to hard work and has the drive and discipline to help Kelly Law in every way possible. After her service, Molly returned to her hometown of Torrington, where she married her high school sweetheart, Nick, and is now Mom to 3 very active kids. Molly is also a board member of Torrington’s Pop Warner Football.
Molly attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College and graduated, Summa Cum Laude and a University Scholar from Post University with a degree in Legal Studies.
Joanne Kelly
JOANNE KELLY provides support for the estate planning, advanced directives and probate work as well as handling the firm’s public information and outreach. A native of Stamford, she moved back to Washington with Jim in 1989. Having raised their four children here, she has grown deep roots in the area. An accomplished tennis player, Joanne shares her talents by teaching tennis to local kids through town park and rec programs and coaching Shepaug High School’s varsity girls tennis team. In her spare time she also enjoys swimming, her book club and long walks with the family dog, PJ.
Joanne graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Marketing.
Robin Hirschfield
ROBIN HIRSCHFIELD has a diverse background in business and accounting and has been handling bookkeeping for Kelly Law since 2011. She owned a software development company in Danbury for twelve years and has worked as the bookkeeper for numerous local small businesses, both professional and retail, for the past 30 years. She and her husband Jim have lived in Washington for the past 25 years where they’ve raised their two daughters. Robin has a passion for gourmet cooking and canning and loves to needlepoint and knit in her spare time.
Robin graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and received her MBA from the University of Connecticut.
